(1) provide quality free civil legal services for low income people and smaller not for profit groups; and
(2) to effectively involve volunteers in the delivery of those services.
Ms. Medina has been recommended to us as a transgender friendly and knowledgeable lawyer.
The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) is a 501(c)3 social justice organization dedicated to advancing the equality of transgender people through advocacy, collaboration and empowerment.
NYAGRA’s mission is to advocate for freedom of gender identity and expression for all.
TransFamily is a support group for transgendered and transsexual people, their parents, partners, children, other family members, friends, and supportive others.
We provide referrals, literature, and over-the-phone information on all transgender issues. Although our meetings are held in Cleveland, Ohio, the Internet has enabled us to extend helping hands to transgendered individuals and their famlies across the globe.
TransFamily provides support, education, advocacy, and outreach for the transgendered community, families, friends, partners, and allies of all ages, through meetings, presentations, seminars, media outreach, and an emergency resource hotline (216-691-HELP (4357)).
The Transgender Aging Network (TAN) exists to improve the lives of current and future trans/SOFFA (significant others, friends, family and allies) elders by:
Identifying, promoting communication among, and enhancing the work of researchers, service providers, educators, advocates, elders and others who are interested in trans/SOFFA aging issues;
Promoting awareness of concerns, issues, and realities of trans/SOFFA aging among service providers, researchers, advocates, health care professionals, the lesbian/gay/bisexual and trans communities, and other relevant audiences;
Advocating for policy changes in public and private institutions, services, organizations, programs, etc. to provide better access for and respectful and appropriate treatment of trans/SOFFA elders; and
Providing communication channels through which trans/SOFFA elders can give and receive support and information.
