The GSA Consortium of the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley offers resources, training, and opportunities to network for GSA advisers in the greater Rochester (and beyond!) area. The Consortium meets 5-6 times during the course of the school year. Meetings include programming of interest to GSA Advisers and well as providing time for Advisers to share questions and advice regarding starting, running, sustaining, and reviving Gay Straight Alliances. The focus of the Consortium is to provide support for GSA Advisers in middle and high schools, but the group is open to anyone working with LGBTQ and allied youth in a club-like setting. For more information, contact GSA@gayalliance.org.
The National Education Association Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Caucus was founded in the 1980’s by a handful of NEA Members seeking to provide a means of professional support for gay and lesbian colleagues.
This web site aims to provide information to the 3.2 million members of the NEA who work each day to facilitate relevance and rigor to America’s Public Schools. The NEA GLBTC works to provide GLBT teachers, education support professionals, and students, with safe schools free of anti-GLBT bias and intolerance, and to provide sound education programs for all students.
