We are the proud home of the largest publicly available LGBTQIA+ library collection of its kind in New York State. The agency’s library contains over 10,000 items including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, rare books, early homophile publications, magazines, film, music, and a complete physical run of the Empty Closet.

Stop by anytime during open hours to browse our library collection. Our friendly volunteers will help you find the book you’re looking for, or direct you to something new! Feel free to relax and read in our community center.

Interested in checking a book, DVD, or CD out? You can borrow our library items and read it at your convenience! Borrowing privileges are free, but we ask that if you are able, consider donating to financially support the library: Donate Today

Each item may be checked out for 3 weeks
You may check out 5 items at a time
You may renew your library items via phone or email (585-244-8640 library@gayalliance.org)
Fines may be assessed for lost materials
